Develop opportunities around the London Hub

In 2012 we are focussed on developing major opportunities around the London Hub. We are looking for opportunities to support and work with, so if you have a proposition or simply an idea that could be interesting then talk to us and we can, together, give it serious consideration.

Lucy welcome to this group.  It was a place holding following the london workshop where we captured lots of conversations and idea but didn't upload them. The major efforts for this year are around Ethos Transition.

Some good things from the HayGroup about future leadership and organisation.

The Hay Group on Future Leadership.

"Leaders of the future will need to be adept conceptual and strategic thinkers, have deep integrity and intellectual openness, find new ways to create loyalty, lead increasingly diverse and independent teams over which they may not always have direct authority, and relinquish their own power in favor of
collaborative approaches inside and outside the organization."

"Organizations will have to radically adapt their cultures, structures, systems and processes in order to survive the new world order – and managing in matrix structures, where information flows around the organization and around the globe in a way that renders traditional hierarchies and reporting lines redundant, is one of the biggest challenges. Leaders will have to manage through influence rather than authority, which may not come easily to many. Indeed, the demands the dramatically changing business climate will have on leaders at a cognitive, emotional and behavioral level will be unprecedented. "

To Grow Without Bureaucracy

Phil, Annabelle and I had a great Skype this afternoon with Jon Husband who is coming to Europe next month.  We had an interesting session about networked leadership and culture and the issues of scaling.  He pinged an article on how Netflix has managed to avoid the "command and control" type of management by letting employees make their own decisions.  I think its quite a good read.
